They use up-cyled materials and create custom orders with an outlook to maintaining a minimal envrionmental impact, so I was keen to support them with their brand development. By following the brand guidelines of the charity I was able maintain the character and aesthetic of the Wilderness Society and create a clear and concise reference document. In need of a graphic designer to help with the process I joined her and we went on to create the identity, packaging, social and website graphics for Lafa.&nbsp; &nbsp; Lafa is different to other energy drinks as the sourceof its caffeine comes from Guarana, and it prides itselfon being made from only natural ingredients. The brief was required to reflect this so I used organic shapes and hand lettering throughout the design to give a rustic natural feel. This is the idea that humans are innately connected to nature and studies have proven the physical and emotional benefits behold to contact time with our natural environment. Within my research I also found that these positive effects can be evoked through synthetic forms. It was for this reason I chose to design a bio-inspired pattern that could be installed within the university in order to subconsciously improve student wellbeing. This method would be low maintenance and financially viable. &nbsp; &nbsp; After spending a large amount of time researching theory and experimenting with the different possible forms my design could take, I developed the pattern you can see to the right. After developing this I then went on to test the effect my pattern had on students. Using three different means of testing I set out to prove it had the positive effects on concentration and restoration I had hoped for. &nbsp; &nbsp; With the help of Dr Lynne Spackman from the psychology department of Sheffield Hallam University I was able to design reliable and ethical experiments that helped to prove my hypothesis. Creating my installations at a small scale I tested their effect on my peers before and after installation, as well as conducting a behavioural study contrasting my pattern against a man made and completely natural pattern. &nbsp; &nbsp; After statistical analysis of my data I found that my pattern decreased stress, enabled peoples’ ability to relax in the environment, increased happiness and productivity, was equally as restful as a completely natural pattern and would help to restore attention, actively improving concentration. &nbsp; &nbsp; Due to the results from my studies I went on to install this pattern at a large scale, within a busy passageway in the university. As they welcome discourse and action across all climate, natural environment, and sustainable living issues they are my kind of people and I was pleased I could help them out with their branding.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Nothofagus gunii/ Myrtle Beech is a very important tree with a beautiful and distinctive leaf shape. The tree is significant for many Tasmanians as it is the only native deciduous tree in the whole of Australia, meaning once a year Tasmania is host to the the wonderful spectacle of ‘the turning of the fagus’ when all the tree’s leaves turn from green to yellow to orange and sometimes even red then fall from the trees. Since it’s birth in Dublin in 2009 OFFSET has succeeded to inspire and educate far and wide within the creative industry, and in recent years has even spread across the waters to London and most recently Sheffield. &nbsp; &nbsp; Our job as design interns was to create the entire campaign for OFFSET Sheffield 2016. The brief outlinedthat our chosen approach must embody OFFSET’s existing bold, bright, colourful and playful personality. We did exactly that. Using not the speakers, but the speakers tools as our theme we created a surreal and abstract world where the tools held centre stage. These 3D sets – designed, built and painted by ourselves – gave us our main imagery to be used across advertising, social media and throughout the event. &nbsp; &nbsp; (The photographs were all shot while working at Field Design agency in Sheffield. QUBA are a digitial design agency based in Sheffield that focus on providing big brands with complex websites and digital systems. They came to Field looking for a fresh pair of eyes to expand upon their existing branding and consider how this new look would help to revamp their renovated school house offices. &nbsp; &nbsp; Using information and the brand values provided by QUBA I developed this simple twist on their existing logo — a combination of static and moving secondary elements. After visiting the office space I was then able to begin planning how and where these vibrant colours and graphical elements could be applied to the QUBA work space. This included vinyl installations, painting some walls, updating light fittings and furniture and even reconfiguring some of the layout.
